Teenager in the house

On Boxing Day Sarra turned 13 years old.
We are always grateful that the year 2000 was a leap year otherwise she would have been born at 7.56pm on Christmas Day instead.

She was 7 days late, due on the 19th of December, weighing in at 8 pound 3 ounces and 48.5cm long.

{in the hospital very pleased with myself}

She had HEAPS of thick auburn hair which slowly got blonder and blonder as the months went by.

{this is her 1st birthday with Aunty Jessica}

Sarra had decided that for her birthday, she would like Mexican after having some homemade enchilladas when Jessica was here a week before Christmas. I don't know if I made them as good as Jess but they were still yummy. We had salsa salad and nachos with it as well. Mum, Lisa and Rohan were also there to help her celebrate and test out my homemade Mexican trial.

Sarra loves raspberries and ferrero roche so I combined the two for her favourite cake -a sponge cake. She actually doesn't like chocolate cake so this was just perfect for her.

We are so proud of Sarra getting through her first year of high school and how tough it was for the first term, for navigating her way through such a big school (coming from a school of 130 to a school of 1400) and doing so well with her school work. She got an academic award for Maths and an endeavour award for playing the clarinet in the school band. She ended up with 1A and 7Bs under the Australian Curriculum. I am so proud of the person she is becoming.

I can't believe we now have a teenager in the house!!!
